Kgalagadi Breweries: Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL) has been named Botswana’s Most Admired Alcoholic Beverage Brand at the 2025 Brand Africa Botswana Awards.
Carlsberg: Carlsberg beer, brewed by Castel in Morocco, has been available in market since May 2025. The launch comes after Castel’s Société Des Boissons Du Maroc (SBM) signed a new partnership agreement with Carlsberg in September 2024.
Kegna Beer: Kegna Beverages is making a USD 250 million investment in the beer market, officially opening a 3 million hl brewery in Ginchi, a town some 80 km west of the capital Addis Ababa, in Oromia Regional State. The lager, with the brand name Kegna (meaning “our”), is brewed with local barley and will hit the market immediately.
Soul Barrel Brewing: Soul Barrel Brewing has just been awarded Best Beer in Africa at the 2025 African Beer Cup — for the third time in the competition’s history, and second year in a row.
Wine: Global wine consumption has declined by 7.5% over the past two decades, with the European Union itself seeing a 24% drop between 2010 and 2020 according to Wine Intelligence and the European Parliament.
Sauvignon Blanc: A recent Statista study shows that 44% of South African wine drinkers prefer Sauvignon Blanc, favoured for its freshness and perceived “lighter” profile, aligning with the trend toward health-conscious sipping.
